Shannon Wimp Schmidt
A Chicagoland native and adopted Hoosier, Shannon Schmidt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology and Italian from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Catholic Theological Union, Chicago. In addition to over a decade of experience in youth and pastoral ministry, Shannon has worked as a diversity educator, interfaith ministry leader, and theology teacher. She is
currently employed as a Pastoral Associate at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist in Fishers, IN.
In her minimal free time, Shannon co-hosts the podcast Plaid Skirts and Basic Black, and also serves on
the board for Catholics United for Black Lives, a not-for-profit organization which advocates for
policies which combat racism and align authentically with the Catholic faith.
Shannon lives in the Indianapolis area with her exceedingly patient husband, Eric, and their four
beautiful children.
